Hand Foot and Mouth Disease

Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is a human syndrome caused by intestinal viruses in the Picornaviridae family. The more common strains causing HFMD is the Coxsackie A virus and the Enterovirus 71 (EV71).[1]
HFMD usually affects infants and children, and is quite common. It is highly contagious and is spread through direct contact with the mucus, saliva, or feces of an infected person. It typically occurs in small epidemics in nursery schools or kindergartens, usually during the summer and autumn months. The usual incubation period is 3-7 days.
It is extremely uncommon in adults, however still a possibility. Most adults have strong enough immune systems to utterly defeat the virus, however those with
immune deficiencies are very susceptible. HFMD is NOT to be confused with foot-and-mouth disease, which is a disease affecting sheep, cattle and swine, and which is unrelated to HFMD (but also caused by a member of the Picornaviridae family).Symptoms of HFMD include:
fever 101F-103F
malaise
sore throat
painful oral lesions
non-itchy body rash, followed by sores with blisters on palms of hands and soles of feet
mouth ulcers
sores or blisters may be present on the buttocks of small children and infants
Not all symptoms may be present. There is no specific treatment for hand, foot and mouth disease. Individual symptoms, such as fever, lameness and pain from the sores, may be eased with the use of medication. HFMD is a viral disease that has to run its course; many doctors do not issue medicine for this illness, unless the infection is severe. The infection in older children, adolescents and adults is normally very mild and lasts around 3 days sometimes quicker. Fever reducers will help to control high temperatures. Luke-warm baths will also help bring temperature down.
Only a very small minority require hospital admission, mainly as a result of neurological complications (encephalitis, meningitis or acute flaccid paralysis) or pulmonary edema/pulmonary hemorrhage. We must do good hyigene practices to prevent these disease.

Earth Day!!!

Hi everybody! Tomorrow's Earth Day! We should all appreciate Earth or its scientific name Gaia! Here are some tips to save the Earth. 1) Always use both sides of a paper. 2) When you don't need a glass bottle anymore, paint it on the outside and put in small things and it will become your item holder! 3)Before you throw anything away, think of what it could become to benifit you! 4)Always throw the materials that can be recycled into recyling bins. 5) The last and final tip I can give you is... Don't waste electricity! Wait for my next post on ways to turn nothing into something!
But for now I on the top of this post, here is an invention called the Painter's Friendship Box! It is made of recycled materials, see what can you do with your rubbish? Please follow the tips above and Reuse,Reduce and Recycle!!!

International Friendship Day!!!

Hi everyone!!! Today I'm writing about International Friendship Day!!! True Friends... What are true friends like?... True friends are people who treat you like a sister or brother. True friends help each other, without question and be there with you when you need them. Among all my friends, I only have 3 True frinds and more... I have many friends, they are good friends... Having friends are good as they can help you when you need help and if you don't have any friends, my advice to you is just be a friend if you want to have friends. If you don't have friends, you will be very lonely. I know as I have exprienced it before. Here's how to start with a friend. Firstly, start playing with that person a game or lend her something he or she needs. Then, get to know one another better by asking the person's name and hobbies. Then talk to her daily and get to know her even better... Now here's your friend!!! Singapore is a very small country and may need help in getting food and water. If it did not have any frinds like Malaysia, China, Indonesia,Thailand and many more, how can we survive if these countries decided to stop selling us these things we need? In my school, on International Friendship Day, a teacher showed us many things. For an example,He showed us the art of WUSHU which means chinese martial arts and Judo which came in on 11th April 1955. My favourite activity is when the teacher of a WUSHU school gave us a Demonstration on Wushu. It was very entertaining!!! I hope next year they can teach us languages of other countries and games too!

The joke of the donkey

THE DONKEY
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be
covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first,

the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to
everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit
his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the
animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the
edge o! f the well and happily trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick
to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.. We can get out of the
deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off
and take a step up.
* Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.
Live simply and appreciate what you have.
Give more.
Expect less
*NOW **............** *
Enough of that crap *. . . *The donkey later came back,

and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.

The gash from the bite got infected and

the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

* MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover your ass, it always
comes back to bite you.
