Believing in yourself
Last week our teacher, Mr Lau, showeds us a Star Wars movie clip and a movie about Roger Bannister, the man who ran a mile (about 1.6km)in less than 4 minutes. If you believe in yourself, many great thing will happen. I felt that the clips were good 4 the whole class as it makes us believe in ourselves. We must never try but do whatever we want to do. There is no such thing as try but onli do or do not. I believe it is very important to believe in one's self as we usually depend on our confidence without knowing it. Hence, believing in one's self is very important.

I have only 1 FUN activity outside sch the rest r mostly boring but Good 4 my education. The only Fun activity is Badminton. It's a passion n hobby my brother, sister, father n i luv. I used 2 have an art activity but my parents made me quit it... I usually play badminton on Wednesday n Sunday , 2 hrs every time... At first I joined badminton because my dad "forced" me to ( I was only 7 when he asked me to join...) In the end, i still quit it but when i was p4, i started to have interest in badminton again so I went 4 coaching and now I play in sch. I luv badminton as it help me exercise and lets me hit things to release my anger n not get scolded. In sch I have loads more activities but somehow I managed to balance them hope I keep it up!^^ I think be in in outside sch act. is very useful to some people it helps them in education, skills n values. I hope people take part in Good activities.

Target Setting
Setting targets are like setting your goals. That is how we are motivated to reach our targets. Setting targets are quite useful but at the same time, they can be very stressful. For example, you will be totally stressed out if you don't reach your targets and may snap, but if you reach your targets, you will be totally jubilant and motivated to get better and higher marks for your next exams. As I set my targets, I will always strive for very high marks, but usually fall short. That does not stop me! We must always remember to be optimistic no matter what. I am going to archive my targets by paying attention to the teacher more, ask my friends and parents more if I am not sure or understand questions. My parents help me a lot and stay up to help me sometimes and told me that if i do well for PSLE, they will take me to anywhere in the world. I will motivate myself saying that just get over your PSLE and exams and you can go to any country in the world you want to go to and can hang out with your friends more. That is why we should target set to motivate ourselves.

Total Defence Day
Total Defence day is a very important day to everyone. It is specially important to the elders which suffered in World War 2. This day is to commemorate the anniversary of the surrender of the British to the Japanese on Feburary 15, 1942 , precursoring 3 years and 8 months of Japanese Occupation. Schools in Singapore would remind students of the importance of Total Defence Day and to remind every Singaporean that Singapore is worth defending. This year the theme for Total Defence Day is " What will you defend? " If I could defend anything, it would be my best friends and family. I would sacrifice anything for my family and best friends, even my life if i have to, but it would only be for my family and best friends. If they need help, i would help. I will not turn my backs on them even for my enemies. (Because i barely have any." I hope by my actions i can make the world a better place to live in. why do I have to do this, u ask. It is because to me it is my duty to help anyone in need.

My school's vision is to have a School of Distinction Nurturing Future-Ready Citizens of Character, my school's mission is to Provide quality education to equip pupils with the values, knowledge and skills for the 21st Century and values are Self-Discipline Passion for Learning Integrity Courage Excellence Sincerity which make up the word, SPICES. I think the values are good fror the students in Anderson. I believe in the school's values it helps us or guides us. We can be more polite and practice the values more. Maybe, the teachers can give students items as a way of motivation to students who deeply practice the school values.

Back to school

I think that school this year is normal but i am wondering when is the air-con in the school hall coming??? Mr. Tan said that they will have it by the end of last year but it still did not happened!!! Hope it comes by this year... I am used to many things in the school such as the games and the wii, even though i haven't even used it yet but luckily i have 1 at home. ^^ Sadly the new P.E. uniform is not that nice i think the old one is nicer^^ ;) I think it would be better if we had computers in classrooms so we can learn via computers and the teachers don't really needs to talk so much anymore. I gotten use to almost everything in the school and i hope for more changes to come my way.

Vandalism and Littering
What is Vandalism and Littering? Vandalism is the behaviour attributed to the Vandals in respect of culture: ruthless destruction or spoiling of anything beautiful or venerable. Such action includes criminal damage, defacement, graffiti and crass erection of an eyesore. While Littering is waste disposed of in the wrong place by unlawful human action and can vary in size of incident, occurrence or items. It can occur as small items like wrappers, large collections of waste or scatterings of litter dispersed around public places outdoors. Litter can be occasioned by malicious intent, carelessness, or by accident. Litter has the potential to cause harm to human health, safety, and welfare; it harms wildlife and environmental quality on Earth. I think some people litter for convience and vandalise for fun. When i walk to a vandalised or alittered place, i think that it is very dirty and not good for health. I have seen places in Malaysia that is vandalised but not littered. My school should put up more rules and have more consequences if students vandalise or litter.

F1
Last year, Singapore made history made history again! One of the recent events that made Singapore more popular was last year's F1 Night Race. F1 is a set of technical regulations for single seater racing cars which is published annually by the FIA. F1 started in 1894,the year of the first motor race in history, from Paris to Rouen to 1900. The existing vehicles were simply raced. A differentiation was made between the cars on the basis of their method of propulsion (petrol or steam), and their number of seats. At the time, cars always had at least two seats, and it was not until the end of the 1920s that single-seater cars were used. The invention of the rear-view mirror made an important contribution to this development, since one of the mechanic's tasks was to warn the driver that someone was trying to overtake him. From 1907 to 1939, almost every possible formula was tried. Minimum weight, maximum weight, consumption and bore were each restricted in their turn, but the formula most frequently used, even after 1939, was to limit the cylinder capacity of the engines. This restriction was first introduced in 1914. I think Singapore deserves to host more F1 races as it boosts Singapore's economy and F1 fans in Singapore can enjoy F1 locally. I sort of like F1 as when you watch the cars race, you will feel the pleasure of speeding.

Recycling

This post is about Recycling. To me recycling means to make old and "useless" objects into new, creative and useful objects. It is very important to recycle things as now Mother Earth is facing a gigantic problem, Global Warming. If we recycle more we will be able to save the Earth. Recycling is very easy, we just separate the object we can recycle from the objects we cannot recycle and throw the recyclable items into the recycling bin. We can also show off our art skills by recycling. For example, we can turn a old cardboard toilet roll into a pencil holder, we will also save money by recycling. Me talking about this, you must be thinking... Do i also recycle? Well the answer to that question is yes! I do practice recycling. I recycle plastic bottles, paper, cardboard and some others. I usually put these recyclable item into the recycling bin and once in a while, recycle those plastic bottles and turn them into boats. I think my school has done reasonably well in recycling, but it can be improved. My school should host more recycling contests and with a money reward or something. I wish to tell my friends and family that Recycle 4 Life!
